It’s getting cold outside and it’s going to start snowing soon, which means two things here at McCaskey. One, it’s time for you to pull out your winter clothes from the bottom of your closet. Two, you better make sure your winter clothes have a tornado logo on it- so that you can cheer for our winter sports teams.      

If you didn’t know, McCaskey has six winter sports teams: indoor track and field, bowling, basketball, swimming, wrestling, and cheerleading. 

I think it’s time to get a preview of what they’re expected to do this season.

Let’s talk about the most hyped up teams here at McCaskey: our girls and boys basketball team. Both teams are expected to be contenders for the league title this season. 

The swim team and the bowling team aren’t expected to make huge waves for the L.L. league title, however, I wouldn’t count them out just yet—they still have really talented athletes. 

The indoor track and field team is expected to keep the momentum going that they have this season. Our track athletes are expected to dominate the competition as they use these meets to get ready for the spring track season.  

Last but certainly not least the wrestling teams—the boys team is expected to compete for the L.L. League championship again this season. The whole girl’s team is expected to succeed greatly as they look to become back to back L.L League Champs, with senior PIAA Wrestling state champ Journie Rodriguez leading the way. 

Needless to say, there is a lot to be excited for this winter sports season. So it’s time to bundle up, put on your tornado swag, and get ready to cheer on our sports teams.
