What Happened at the Fall Fling?

On October 17th of this year, McCaskey held its first-ever Fall Fling. But what exactly is the Fall Fling? The Fall Fling is an event hosted by J.P. McCaskey High School at the end of Homecoming week, celebrating the hard work of students and staff throughout the school. The event featured food trucks, games, and other entertaining activities and attractions.

Students with 95% attendance or higher and no out-of-school suspensions received tickets to use at the food trucks present at the Fall Fling. Clearly, students had high attendance this marking period, as the lines for the food truck got so long that students were waiting over an hour for food at some trucks.

Games were also for students to participate in. The games consisted of fun accuracy games where you would shoot or throw a ball into a small hole. Students were also playing their own games, such as soccer or American football. The band and cheerleaders were also present, creating a sense of culture in combination with everyone who participated in McCaskey Pride Day, which occurred the same day as the Fall Fling.

Overall, the McCaskey Fall Fling ended up being an event enjoyed by both teachers and students. Sophomore Franniel Liriano-Garcia would say that he linked the event a lot because it allowed him to quote “participate in all different types of activities and hang around with friends.” If you missed the Fall Fling this year, make sure to keep your attendance up next year so you can take part in the event!
